Remember, remember the fifth of November,
Gunpowder treason and plot.
We see no reason
Why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot!
Guy Fawkes, guy, t'was his intent
To blow up king and parliament.
Three score barrels were laid below
To prove old England's overthrow.
By god's mercy he was catch'd
With a darkened lantern and burning match. So, holler boys, holler boys, Let the bells ring.
Holler boys, holler boys, God save the king.
And what shall we do with him?
So every year on Guy Fawkes night there are fireworks and bonfires to satisfy the littl pyro in us. Last night we took Deuce to Battersea to watch the fireworks with friends (nothing like baptism by fire to get him over any fear!). Predictably he freaked when they started, but a few well timed treats and a lot of positive reassurance (and insanely upbeat "good boy"s like he was getting a steak or something) and he settled into actually watching them. Five minutes in and he was totally blase!
Today we are braving the wild herds of Ikea… Must get some kind of storage for my Room of Requirements – or rather the Socktopus Room, and organise the overflowing bags of yarn (19 full bin bags of yarn plus a half dozen storage boxes too).
And this afternoon- and interview! I'll be on a podcast which is totally exciting! 🙂
